A multi-instrumentalist musician (guitar, electric bass and saxhorn), he is a founder and active member of the "Compagnie du Facteur Soudain", an improvised music collective in which he has produced many projects since 1997. (Le choix des mots, Mourka, Sakom, La Grosse Formule, Il Rito, Dernier Jardin…).

As the guitarist of the "chanson française" band "Poncet", he recently recorded the album « Celui qui dit qui est » (released in Juin 2006 by Neômme, l’Autre Distribution.

In collaboration with his two friends Philippe Gilbert and Patrick Sapin, he created the brass trio "Les Gars de la Marine".

Between 2003 and 2005, he also participated in the show "La Boîte de Parceque" mixing circus, music and "chanson française".

His interest in composition and arrangement led him to write music for various projects and bands such as: Théâtre du mouvement (Biennale de la danse 2006), "Poncet", Handicap Evasion, "Tracas d'Affaire", Houpn’co, "Five Days a Week", "Natty", écoles de musique de St Fons, CFMI (Momeludies)

He currently teaches at theAPEJS ( Chambéry ) and atARTiS-mbc (Lyon).

He also played with: Karrakib, Jacky Mallerey Quartet, Richerd, Natty, Five Days a Week, Freeandise, Blumy Quintet, Tourmaline, Shakok, Stomp, Méthylène, Eclypse, Alinéa Quartet …

  • June 2003: « De la Faucille au marteau »( JP Hervé/Philippe Gilbert ) : Lice at Kafé Myzik (Lyon).
  • 1999/2000: « Imaginaires » show created with elementary school children, produced at the request of the french State for CFMI (« Momeludies ») . 3 concerts in 2000, including one at the Rhino Jazz Festival (Rive de Giers).
  • December 1999: « Djarmonie » Joint concerts with "Compagnie du Facteur Soudain" and theHarmonie de Trévoux, (Ain) .
  • March 1999: « Le choix des mots » JP Hervé/ Bruno Tocanne. Long term project with young rappers from the M.J.C de Vénissieux and the "Compagnie du Facteur Soudain". Concerts at the Amphithéâtre de l'Opéra de Lyon and Jazz Festival de Grenoble.

Professional experience: artistic collaborations

Improvisation sessions between the theatre group "Artphonème" (Bourg –en Bresse) and "Dernier jardin". Performed in the Festival de l’Improvisation et de l’Ephémère in Hauteville (July 2006).

Improvisation sessions between the electronic music collective "Sillon (Anotret et In-Sektroma)" and the "Compagnie du Facteur Soudain". Concerts at La Péniche andL’arrêt Public des Platanes (Lyon).

Improvisation sessions with the visual arts collective "Solo Sary": mixing sculpture, dance and music in a public performance for the city of Lyon ( « Feuilles Mortes » , November 2005).

2004/2005: "La Boîte de Parce Que" project mixing circus, music and « chanson française ». Festivals : Les accros de ma rue (Nevers), les Furies (Châlon-en-Champagne) , Festival International de Théâtre de Rue (Aurillac). Residences: Clamecy, Châlon-sur-saône, Théâtre de Châteauroux (5 shows), l’Escale in Migennes, Festivallon (5 shows in Burgundy). Touring in the south of France.

« Il Rito » Collaboration with la Pescaïola, Italian contemporary art center. Five years in a row, musicians of the "Compagnie du Facteur Soudain" participated to the project "Il Rito", sculpture, dance and music : Piaggio Museum (Pontedera), Condrieux, « Feuilles Mortes » (Lyon).

Collaboration with a computer scientist musician, « Duplex ». Bruno Zonca, a rock and experimental guitarist and computer scientist, works in collaboration with other musicians around technology and improvisation.

Collaboration with the "Compagnie Ephémère", dance and musical improvisation during the festival Le Jardins des Possibles.

Collaboration with the "Komplex Kapharnaûm" during the second festival Le Jardin des Possibles, image, sound and improvisation.

In Italy: Encounters with dancers and sculptors in San Giuliano Terme. Shows gathering dance, music and sculptures with the Italian company "Effetto Parallelo", around four sculptures made by Errore Cha and Walter Sardi. Choreography by Michele Arena.

In Japan (Nagano): collaboration with two traditional musicians playing shamisen and tzutzumi, with the Butoh dancer Ono Kazuo and with the saxophonist * Umezu.

During the Japanese tour of "Mourka", produced shows around the encounter between jazz and traditional Japanese music. Improvised music and dance, mixed with poetry by Yutaka Matsuzawa (September-October 2000)
